Der Kuchenmichel belauscht das Gespräch der Vögel im Walde. Um 1847.
Pencil drawing, partly with slight wash.
On light board. 16.7 x 13.2 cm (6.5 x 5.1 in), size of sheet.
Verso with another pencil sketch of the same motif, seated. For: Der Kuchenmichel von Karl Stöber, 1847.

PROVENANCE: Collection Dr. Theodor Engelmann (1851-1931), Basel (until 1928, C.G. Boerner November 17, 1928, verso with the collector's stamp, Lugt 789c).
Collection Theodor Johannsen, Wedel.
Ever since family-owned.

LITERATURE: C.G.Boerner, Leipzig / Gutekunst & Klipstein, Bern, Ludwig Richter-Sammlung von Dr. Theodor Engelmann, Basel, November 17, 1928, no. 38 (with illu. on plate II).

In good condition. With small isolated brownish stains im upper part of the image. Board slightly sunned outside of image.
The condition report was compiled in daylight and to the best of knowledge.
